Prep Roundup, Aug. 27: HHCA volleyball team rallies for win at Thomas Heyward

VOLLEYBALL

Hilton Head Christian 3, Thomas Heyward Academy 1: After dropping the opening game 25-21, Hilton Head Christian rallied to win the next three, 25-16, 25-18, 25-20.

Stevie DeSimone had 29 kills, and Hannah Reynolds had 27 assists to lead the Eagles (4-1). Kerry Davis added 12 kills, Andy Anderson had 12 digs and Lilly Strickland set for 17 assists for HHCA, which hosts Hilton Head Island High on Tuesday.

Victoria Quick had seven kills, six aces and six digs to lead Thomas Heyward (2-2) in the loss. Shelby Best had seven kills and three digs, Jamie Davis set for 14 assists and Hailey Malphrus added 10 assists for the Rebels.

Ashley Hall 3, Hilton Head Prep 0: The visitors swept past the Dolphins 25-9, 25-10, 25-15.

For Hilton Head Prep, Carlie Van posted 13 assists, Taylor Kent notched six kills, two blocks and an ace, and Megan Kelly had two aces.

The Dolphins (2-4) next travel to Beaufort Academy on Thursday.

Middle School: St. Francis 3, Beaufort Academy 2 (25-20, 23-25, 25-18, 26-28, 15-7)

Pinewood Prep 7, Beaufort Academy 2: Natalie Simkins was the lone singles winner on the day for the host Eagles.
