Two accidents briefly slowed traffic Monday near the bridge to Hilton Head Island, but neither resulted in injuries, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office spokesman.

Capt. Scott Johnson said the two rear-end accidents occurred within 100 yards of each other, with the second occurring while traffic was backed up from the first. Neither accident resulted in any injuries.

Both accidents occurred at about 6 p.m. Monday, slowing traffic heading onto the island.
