jkarr@islandpacket.comAugust 26, 2013

In this video, principal Chris Paul describes the first week of class at the brand new Catholic school, John Paul II Catholic School, which is temporarily holding operating out of Okatee Baptist Church on S.C. 170 while its building is being completed nearby.

The school is the first new Catholic high school in South Carolina in more than 50 years. Approximately 60 students in seventh through ninth grades are enrolled. The school will add a grade each year until it serves seventh- through 12th-graders.

Its permanent building is expected to open in November or December.
