MACTOWER

Brock Vaigneur's first game as head coach at Beaufort Academy was a successful one.

Sort of.

The Eagles (1-0) defeated Twiggs Academy, 18-0, after the game was called after only a half because of lightning. The stoppage was the decision of the referees after three different delays, according to Vaigneur.

"It wasn't raining or anything," Vaigneur said, "just a teasing lightning the whole night."

When the two teams did play, senior running back Reyn Robinson provided some lightning of his own for the Eagles, scoring three touchdowns, including one on the first play of the game.

In all, Robinson gained 150 yards on six carries.

The Eagles failed on all three two-point conversions.

Beaufort Academy hosts Jefferson Davis Academy at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
