Board won't like having ineffectiveness revealed

The Beaufort County school board has had the rug pulled out from under it.

It has been asked to have an open hearing to discuss the firing of a school principal who was suspended with pay, would not show up for his new assignment, but who had his contract renewed.

Unfortunately, this meeting probably won't happen. School district officials and board members will get legal opinions before the meeting that will preclude it. Otherwise, we might discover that this board does not function in a clean, orderly, legal or above-board manner, not unlike many other public boards that are ineffectual, but go unnoticed until a problem lands on their doorstep.

The school board chairman said that not all the board members had all the information needed to make a valid judgment on the principal's firing. Let's look at the minutes of the meeting when the motion to suspend this principal was made and note who was present and how they voted.

Don't they know it is easy to identify buffoons on these boards? They fear the truth and hide it under privacy concerns.
