VIM Hilton Head Island thanks Community Foundation of the Lowcountry

letters@islandpacket.comAugust 20, 2013

On behalf of the board of directors, staff and volunteers of Volunteers in Medicine Clinic Hilton Head Island, we wish to extend our deepest gratitude to the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry board and staff for their approval of a grant to help fund VIM's new electronic medical records module.

The module will be used to track and manage patient treatment to enable VIM to institute preventive and chronic care programs for the medically underserved in our community and will provide data required by grantors, such as patient demographics, health status and outcomes and measures.

The module is particularly important in generating reports for the management of patient care and clinic services and will allow VIM to propose new preventive care programs. Once in place, it will also enable VIM to file new grant applications for patient education and preventive disease management.

Thanks again to the foundation for its assistance with this important program and for its continued support of VIM Hilton Head, which offers free health care for people living or working on Hilton Head and Daufuskie islands.
