Thank you to St. Francis Thrift Shop from Memory Matters

letters@islandpacket.comAugust 20, 2013

On behalf of the families we serve, our staff and board of directors, I would like to thank St. Francis Thrift Shop for awarding Memory Matters with a grant to support our scholarship program.

With the help of these funds we are able to provide free care to low-income families who desperately need help. The need for high quality, compassionate dementia care is substantial. Many families are struggling in this economy.

We are grateful to the volunteers at St. Francis Thrift Shop, who put in countless hours to raise money for local charities. It is labor intensive, but done with love, compassion and civic pride. And we feel blessed by those who support St. Francis Thrift Shop with both donations and their purchases.

Memory Matters is a local, nonprofit organization that offers a dementia-specific day care, support and resources for caregivers, and education and advocacy for the community. Call 843-842-6688 or visit www.memory-matters.org
