Thank you to area thrift shops for donations to Second Helpings

letters@islandpacket.comAugust 20, 2013

The Bargain Box, St. Francis Thrift Shop, St. Luke's Church Mouse and Calhoun Station have once again made donations to Second Helpings. On behalf of our board, the 50 agencies and churches in Beaufort and Jasper counties that receive the food we rescue and the people they serve, I offer a collective thank you.

Everyone can't afford to write a check to a charity but can donate to or shop at one of these stores. That unusual piece of furniture in your home that you think no one could possibly want may help keep a Second Helpings' truck on the road. I speak for many of the local charities when I encourage you to support The Bargain Box, St. Luke's Church Mouse and St. Francis Thrift Shop on Hilton Head Island and Calhoun station in Bluffton.
