Republic Waste Services should rethink its name

info@islandpacket.comAugust 19, 2013

I am compelled to share our very frustrating experience with Republic Waste Services.

The company forgot our trash for eight consecutive weeks. It also forgot our recyclables for five weeks in 2011. This past June 4, I chased down its truck and learned the company had my address out of sequence. It never corrected this. I asked and begged seven different representatives to solve the issue. One employee told me: "You are one of thousands of customers."

Who wrote the company's customer service policy? This stinks, yes pun intended. And we pre-pay for this? Can you say monopoly? We have lived on the island for 37 years and owned the same home and never encountered such woeful attitudes.

By the way, I received a bill for the next three months. My recommendation is to drop "services" from the company name. Oh, and my bill is in the trash. Oops, I forgot.
