Thank you to Phyllis, Beaufort's best ambassador

letters@islandpacket.comAugust 19, 2013

My husband and I recently had the opportunity to visit your lovely Beaufort.

While we were getting ready to walk through the historic district, a wonderful woman named Phyllis stopped us and asked if we were visitors. When we said "yes" she said she had a little time before she had to pick up her husband and she would love to show us through the area. While we were a little leery of getting in her car, she was so warm and friendly I felt comfortable. She drove us through the historic district and gave us the history of all the houses. We had our own private tour guide.

After our tour she took us back to where she had picked us up. My husband and I couldn't believe it. I had heard you have been voted the happiest seaside town in the country and I certainly believe it. I am so sorry I do not remember Phyllis's last name but I want to publicly thank her for her warm welcome and hospitality to us.

Our trip was wonderful but it was made even better by a person named Phyllis. We will never forget this experience.
