SAND SHARK BASEBALL HIGH SCHOOL SKILLS CAMP: Who: Players in grades 7-12 and recent high school graduates; When: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Aug. 18; Where: Richard Gray Sports Complex, Hardeeville; Cost: $150; Notes: Demonstrate your skills in front of the USC Beaufort coaching staff. Morning session will focus on fundamentals, while afternoon session will be in showcase format. You will be responsible for providing your own lunch. PALS AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM: What: Registration for Beaufort County Parks and Leisure Services After-School Program; Where: Bluffton center, Burton Wells, Broomfield, Port Royal, Scott Center and Lind Brown; Notes: Registrations will be accepted until each center is full. PRINCE WILLIAM CYCLE TOUR: What: 62-mile or 35-mile bicycle ride through the country roads of Prince William Parish; Where: Ride begins and ends at Buckfield Plantation in Yemassee; When: 8:30 a.m., Oct. 26; Cost: $35 per rider through Oct. 25, $45 day of; Notes: This is not a race. The annual ride is sponsored by the Yemassee Revitalization Corporation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to restore and beautify downtown Yemassee. An after-ride lunch will be served on the grounds of the plantation. All riders must be at least 16 years of age. GATOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE: Who: Ages 6-13; Where: Hilton Head Island; Cost: $80 (includes uniform); Registration deadline: Aug. 5; Notes: Age Divisions -- Dynamites 6-7, Small Fry 8-9, Pee Wee 10-11 , Midget 12-13. Limited to the first 30 players in each age group. Scholarships available. Games played Saturdays in Low Country Youth Football League. Season runs through October. Practice starts Aug. 5. RELAY FOR LIFE CHARITY TOURNAMENT: Where: Island West Golf Club, Bluffton; When: 9 a.m., Aug. 19; Cost: $75 per person, $275 per team; Format: 4-person scramble; Notes: Inaugural event is hosted by the City of Hardeeville Parks and Recreation Department. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. Field limited to 72 golfers (18 teams). Includes range balls, prizes and lunch. Longest drive and closest to the pin contests. RUN FOR RET 5K: Where: Hilton Head Preparatory School, Sea Pines; When: 8 a.m., Aug. 31; Notes: Runners will race through the Sea Pines Forest Preserve on hard-packed dirt trails, under live oak trees, around lakes and over wetlands.
