Help dragon boat team recover its missing oar

Who took our dragon boat oar?

DragonBoat Beaufort is a nonprofit cancer survivor-supporter dragon boat racing team. We put on the recent DragonBoat Race Day at the Beaufort Water Festival that introduced dragon boat racing to Beaufort.

We met for practice this past Saturday at Port Royal Landing Marina and discovered that the steering oar for our dragon boat was gone. Someone either took it or threw it into the Beaufort River, where the tide has taken it who knows where.

The oar is about nine feet long and has rope wrapped around the shaft. We can't practice without a steering oar. A new oar will cost us $500 -- money that otherwise would be spent on our cancer survivor missions. If you are on the Beaufort River, keep your eyes open along the marsh. If you took it, we would like it returned. Contact us at president@dragonboatbeaufort.org.
