BASEBALL

SAND SHARK BASEBALL YOUTH SKILLS CAMP: Who: Players ages 6-12; When: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Aug. 17; Where: Richard Gray Sports Complex, Hardeeville; Cost: $100; Notes: Camp will teach players the fundamentals of the game as instructed by the USC Beaufort coaching staff. Morning session will concentrate on defensive skills, while afternoon session will concentrate on the offensive side of the game. Base running, proper throwing mechanics and other aspects of the game will be included. You will be responsible for providing your own lunch. PALS AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM: What: Registration for Beaufort County Parks and Leisure Services After-School Program; Where: Bluffton center, Burton Wells, Broomfield, Port Royal, Scott Center and Lind Brown; Notes: Registrations will be accepted until each center is full. CYCLING

PRINCE WILLIAM CYCLE TOUR: What: 62-mile or 35-mile bicycle ride through the country roads of Prince William Parish; Where: Ride begins and ends at Buckfield Plantation in Yemassee; When: 8:30 a.m., Oct. 26; Cost: $35 per rider through Oct. 25, $45 day of; Notes: This is not a race. The annual ride is sponsored by the Yemassee Revitalization Corporation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to restore and beautify downtown Yemassee. An after-ride lunch will be served on the grounds of the plantation. All riders must be at least 16 years of age. Early registration for the event guarantees each rider a T-shirt, cue sheet, snacks, lunch and beverages. FOOTBALL

GATOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE: Who: Ages 6-13; Where: Hilton Head Island; Cost: $80 (includes uniform); Registration deadline: Aug. 5; Notes: Age Divisions -- Dynamites 6-7, Small Fry 8-9, Pee Wee 10-11 , Midget 12-13. Limited to the first 30 players in each age group. Scholarships available. Games played Saturdays in Low Country Youth Football League. Season runs through October. Practice starts Aug. 5. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. Field limited to 72 golfers (18 teams). Includes range balls, prizes and lunch. Longest drive and closest to the pin contests.
