A retired Bluffton couple won $200,000 in the Carolina Cash 6 game this week.

The couple, who declined to be identified, bought the winning ticket for $2 at the Food Lion on Okatie Village Drive.

The man was home alone when he discovered his numbers matched those drawn Monday, according to a news release. "I almost fainted," he said in a statement.

When his wife called, he told her they had won. "I could tell by the sound of his voice it was fore more than $10," she said in the statement.

The couple, who has played the lottery for years, called the win a "lifesaver."

Odds of winning the game's $200,000 taxes paid top prize are 1 in 920,227, according to the release. The grocery store received nearly $3,000 in commission.
