Patrol cruiser, Jeep collide on Buckwalter Parkway

A South Carolina Highway Patrol cruiser and a Jeep collided Saturday afternoon on Buckwalter Parkway, sending the SUV onto its side but resulting in no injuries.

The collision occurred near the Parker's gas station at the intersection of Buckwalter Parkway and Lake Point Drive, according to Lt. Alfredo Givens. He was unsure of the exact time of the crash.

EMS was dispatched to the scene as a precaution, said Capt. Randy Hunter of the Bluffton Township Fire District.

The investigation by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is continuing.
