Personal accountability missing in race debate

info@islandpacket.comJuly 26, 2013

I watched President Barack Obama's speech regarding Trayvon Martin's death with great anxiety. I think he missed the real message by a mile.

Instead of blaming whites for profiling, why not call on African Americans to stop killing one another and work in harmony with the majority of Caucasians who believe we are all created equal? He should take a lesson from Bill Cosby; we are all accountable for our own actions.

The judicial system worked in this case. George Zimmerman was tried and acquitted by a jury of his peers. Accept it. Meanwhile, it is generally accepted that O.J. Simpson probably got away with murder thanks to racial profiling. It's a two-way street.
