J.D. Hoft's busy week continues at the Beaufort City Championship, where he is defending champion.

Hoft won the Hilton Head Amateur this past weekend, competed in the S.C. Open this week and now will tee it up on Fripp Island.

The opening round will be held on the resort's links-style Ocean Point course and the second round on the more inland Ocean Creek layout.

Hoft is paired in the first round with Fripp Island director of golf and two-time city champion Char Cormier.

The 32-year-old Hoft coasted to a five-shot victory over Rob Simmons in 2012 with both rounds held at Ocean Point. Simmons, the 2011 champion, is not in the field.
