The second suspect in a armed robbery and shooting Friday at a St. Helena Island home is in custody.

Byron Rasheem Moultrie, 22, was arrested late Tuesday at a home on Hogarth Street in Beaufort, according to a news release from the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office. He has been charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, discharging a firearm in a dwelling and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

The first suspect, 18-year-old A-Tray Holmes, was arrested Saturday upon his release from Beaufort Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for a gunshot wound he sustained during the thwarted robbery attempt of Brian Bryan's home on Reunion Road.

Moultrie and Holmes allegedly entered 27-year-old Bryan's home just before 10 p.m. Friday. Once inside, Moultrie shot his gun at Bryan, who shot back and chased the suspects from his home.

Holmes was arrested and charged with armed robbery on Saturday. Charges of attempted murder, discharge of a firearm within a dwelling and possession of a firearm while committing a violent crime were added Monday.

Moultrie is being held for prosecution in lieu of $100,000 bond, according to the Beaufort County Detention Center log. Holmes is being held for prosecution in lieu of $150,000 bond.

Additional charges or arrests are pending as the investigation continues.
