Grant funds to be used to extend Okatie sewer line

info@islandpacket.comJuly 17, 2013

Grant funding will be used to extend a sewer line in Okatie to about 40 customers along Old Bailey's Loop in Jasper County.

BJWSA will begin design of the project soon, and construction will start by the end of 2013.

Jasper County received the Community Development Block Grant funding from the S.C. Department of Commerce. The grant totals about $389,000, with contributions from the county and Beaufort-Jasper Water and Sewer Authority. The grant funding can be used to improve community infrastructure, revitalized neighborhoods, provide public facilities or create jobs.
