Man shot in Beaufort; few details uncovered

A shooting in Beaufort that left one man injured is being investigated by the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies found a 55-year-old man shot in the torso at a home on Glaze Drive at about 8 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release.

It is not clear when or where the shooting occurred. No one in the area reported hearing shots, and no one interviewed by deputies could say how the man was shot. The man's injuries prevented him from providing any information, the release said.

He was taken to Beaufort Memorial Hospital and transferred to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where he is in stable condition, according to the release.
