Two men are being sought for a carjacking outside of a house on Kinloch Road in Dale early Saturday, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

A 40-year-old man was pulling his 2013 Dodge Challenger up to his girlfriend's home just after 1 a.m. when he got out of the car to move a tree branch that had fallen onto the driveway. As he moved the branch, two men emerged from the woods, one carrying a shotgun and the other a handgun, a news release said. They began shooting, and the man dropped the branch and ran into his girlfriend's home. He made it into the home uninjured.

The two men then drove off in the Dodge. It was found abandoned Saturday afternoon off Stroban Road, about six miles away.

The car and the woman's home had about $1,200 in damage.

The suspects were described as black men wearing dark clothing. One wore a sweatshirt, and the other had long hair, according to the release.

No motive has been determined for the shooting.
