For the first 10 years, Tidal Creek Fellowship church on Lady's Island held its services in the cafeteria of Coosa Elementary.

Because of that, the church felt a special connection to Briarwood Elementary in Moore, Okla., which was directly hit by an E5 tornado on May 20.

"Coosa Elementary meant so much to us because it gave us a home," said Marian Arbuckle, the church's pastor of care. "We felt a kinship to the elementary school."

Tidal Creek will hold a concert at 7 p.m. July 12-13, "Music for Moore," to benefit Briarwood Elementary School and the students and teachers impacted. The goal is to raise $5,000.

"We had this idea of having a night like this to worship," worship leader Greyson Johnston said. "And in turn we thought it was a good opportunity to have not just a concert, but a vision and purpose behind it."

Concessions will be for sale. The concert is open to the public and free, with donations being accepted.

"Even if someone's not a Christian, it's still a good oppotunity for them to help improve someone else's life," Johnston said.
