The Hilton Head Baseball Association's Dixie Majors team (ages 15 to 19) won its district championship with two wins against Summerville on Saturday to advance to the state tournament that begins this Saturday in Lancaster.

In the first game, Lincoln Fuller pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing only three walks and two hits in a 1-0 Hilton Head victory. Chase Clayton hit a solo home run and John David Reichel was 2 for 3. JT Marbut threw out a runner at home from left field in the fifth inning to preserve the one-run lead.

In the second game, Clayton was on the mound for Hilton Head. He got off to a rocky start, hitting three batters, walking one and allowing two hits while giving up four runs in the first inning. But Clayton settled in, giving up just one hit and striking out four over the next four innings to help Hilton Head to a five-inning 17-4 victory.

Dylan Powell was 2 for 2 with a home run and three RBIs, Randy Young was 3 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs, Reichel was 4 for 5, Michael Grant was 2 for 3 with an RBI and Carlos Pecero was 3 for 5 with an RBI.
