Sandalwood Community Food Pantry thanks Hilton Head Island churches for generosity

letters@islandpacket.comJuly 7, 2013

The Sandalwood Community Food Pantry gives thanks and praise to God and to the Hilton Head Island Community Church and the First Presbyterian Church of Hilton Head for their continued kindness, compassion and generosity to so many neighbors in need.

Their financial gifts will allow us to continue to serve those who hunger on Hilton Head Island, especially the children, as we live out our mission and go to the people, live among them, learn form them and love them. We start with what they know and build on what they have remembering that the best leaders, when their task is accomplished and their work is done will hear their people say, "We have done it ourselves!"

We are so blessed that these churches believe as we do that, people, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed and redeemed, but never thrown out. We give thanks to both of these wonderful and vibrant church communities for their may gifts of time, talent and financial support and celebrate their friendship and partnership in Christ and the Sandalwood Community Food Pantry as we spread the good news. Please come and visit us at our pantry, website or Facebook page. We enjoy making new friends.
