Thank you to OC Welch for helping family in need

I am a volunteer with Family Promise of Hilton Head/Bluffton, which is an organization that helps temporarily homeless families become self-sufficient once again.

Obviously, many of them do not have transportation, and thanks to donations of automobiles we are often able to provide assistance. Recently, we needed to trade in a donated automobile to supplement the down payment for a single mother of five. I approached O.C. Welch with my problem, as well as making him aware of the financial situation of our client. It was going to take a miracle to get a reliable vehicle that accommodates six people with an affordable monthly payment. O.C. did not think it was doable from our first conversation.

At 10 p.m. one night, I got a call from O.C., and he said, "I think our prayers have been answered." Someone had traded in a six-passenger van for a new car, and our single mother of five was able to have transportation thanks to a generous trade-in value, as well as a heavily discounted interest rate.

All of this was made possible by the generosity of O.C. Welch.

I just wanted the people of Hilton Head Island, Bluffton and the surrounding areas to know the gentleman who ends his commercials with "God bless America" has a heart of gold.
