A 27-year-old man ended up in jail Thursday after becoming enraged and breaking items at a home on Roseida Road Extension in Burton because he could not get a ride to McDonald's, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies arrived at about 11:45 p.m. to find the man throwing items in the living room. His left arm was bleeding profusely, according to the report.

He told deputies he was upset because no one would take him to the fast-food restaurant. His girlfriend said he had wanted to take her car, but she would not give him the keys because he had been drinking.

He was treated at Beaufort Memorial Hospital before being taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center. Hospital staff found a small bag of what appeared to be marijuana while cleaning out his bed, the report said.

He was charged with first-degree criminal domestic violence and simple possession of marijuana and was being held for prosecution Friday with bond set at $5,862.
