Traffic needs help at end of Shelter Cove activities

info@islandpacket.comJuly 5, 2013

A recent Tuesday evening at Shelter Cove Harbour was a glorious and frustrating experience -- a great beginning (the Shannon Tanner concert), a good middle (the fireworks) and a terrible ending (the parking experience).

When we arrived in one car at 7 p.m., there were numerous parking attendants directing traffic. However, it took more than an hour to leave our parking area at the mall because there wasn't a single attendant anywhere to be found to help with the traffic.

I find it inexcusable that event organizers would allow parking attendants to leave so many motorists and kids to organize escape routes on their own.
