The Beaufort Ospreys picked up another victory via forfeit Monday and have one game remaining to determine the American Legion League 1 race.

Moncks Corner forfeited its road game Monday, opting not to travel to Beaufort High School. The Ospreys improved to 11-4, tied with Goose Creek. Beaufort goes to Goose Creek Wednesday in a game that could determine the league title.

The Lowcountry Heat, which is 10-4 after forfeiting to Beaufort on June 30, plays a double header at Moncks Corner on Tuesday.

The top two teams from League 1 will earn home-field advantage to open the playoffs, which start July 8.

The Ospreys have benefited from forfeits throughout the Legion season. They also picked up two wins when West ashley discontinued its season.

Beaufort coach Mike Smith said his team will practice Tuesday in preparation for the pivotal regular-season finale.
