Lowcountry can turn visitors into potential buyers

Special to the Packet and the GazetteJune 30, 2013

As our area visitors are enjoying time with their family and friends this summer, they might be dreaming of what it would be like to live here one day. It reminds me of the many current residents who were once visitors themselves.

Perhaps you recall the excitement you felt when you purchased a home or vacation home in the Lowcounty. Taking advantage of all the resort amenities, "locals" have a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and the core values of the community. Locals share in the vision of excellence for our island guests, and our daily quality of life.

For most potential buyers, choosing to live in the greater Hilton Head area is a lifestyle choice. With today's technology and easy airport access you can work from just about anywhere, so why not here? If retirement is in your future, the area's lifestyle is ideal for the active adult. There is something for everyone, even if it is not golf. There is an array of lifestyle choices in our area, and a Realtor can help you narrow your options.

Our local real estate market is experiencing the summer heat, too. Inventory continues to decrease, especially in properties under $500,000. Since the first of the year the median sales price has increased. In the most recent market reports show the median sales price is up 18 percent from April to May according to the South Carolina Realtors with information provided by the Multiple Listing Service of Hilton Head.

Visitors, you might return home and start to search the Internet which is filled with information and social networking about the Hilton Head area. While all that information is great, there is nothing like a Realtor to assist you in your decision. Only a Realtor has access to the latest figures and data of the Hilton Head area and can supply the accurate information to help you make an informed decision.

People all over are discovering that Hilton Head and the Bluffton area are ideal locations to live, work, play and the ultimate place to call home.

Whether you are selling or buying, seek the advice of a professional and ask if your agent is a Realtor and a member of the Hilton Head Area Association of Realtors.
