The National Science Foundation has awarded more than $600,000 to the University of South Carolina Beaufort to provide scholarships to students in the university's computational science undergraduate program.

The grant from the foundation's scholarships in science, technology, engineering and mathematics program will provide educational opportunities for qualified students in need of financial assistance, particularly women and minorities.
