Beaufort High School hosting six-team volleyball exhibition Friday

Beaufort High School will host the third Summer Spikefest volleyball tournament on Friday.

Six high school teams -- Beaufort High, Beaufort Academy, Bluffton, Battery Creek, Charleston Math and Science and Colleton County -- are in the field.

The six teams will take part in pool play from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., each playing the other five squads. Pool play is two games to 25, starting with six points. Points are capped at 27.

After pool play the top four seeds will be determined by wins, and then points in case of a tie. Bracket play will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. to determine a champion. Bracket play is best two of three to 25, starting at six points, no cap. Third games go to 15.
