Arts center, community need to clean up act

info@islandpacket.comJune 26, 2013

My wife and I were looking forward to enjoying a night out at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina to see "Chicago." The music and dancing were great, but the content was terrible.

Don't think about bringing your child or teenager to this show. We were embarrassed by the actions of most performers, and the bedroom scene was downright disgusting; this is not art.

Why do we allow this to happen here on our beautiful island? Have we gone that low? We have to do much better than that. We should have performances at our beautiful arts center that truly reflect our Christian heritage and that you would not be ashamed to bring your children and guests to.

Most important, in Exodus 20:7, it says not to take the name of the Lord in vain, and if you do, expect to be held accountable.

Let's clean up our act, and the arts center might become what it should be -- art. Who knows, perhaps it could even become a profitable venture.
