Administration misleads with deportation figures

Is there anyone left who still takes the Obama administration at its word?

Along with the Internal Revenue Service mess and the Benghazi whistle-blowers creating major doubt about the administration's ability to deal truthfully with any bad news, we now have this:

Rep. Lou Barbetta, R-Pa., a man with many friends here on Hilton Head Island, stated, "When it comes to the issue of illegal immigration, we have consistently heard from the Obama administration and its allies that the number of deportations is at an all-time high. ... Because of a court action brought by ICE agents ... the Homeland Security Department has had to turn over data related to deportations. In fact, deportation of known illegal aliens already inside the (U.S.) has fallen by 25 percent.

"The administration is apparently padding their statistics by counting those illegal aliens who are prevented from successfully crossing (the border into the U.S.) in the first place. This is a new metric being used for the first time, and it does not accurately reflect the way the interior of our country is being protected."

Surely, they'll blame that "honest mistake" on some low-level employee rather than the political appointee-in-charge.

In this, "the most open and transparent administration," you have to sue the administration to get information they don't want you to know about.

I wonder what President Barack Obama really means when he says, "God bless America"?
