From staff reportsJune 25, 2013

A five-run fifth inning propelled the Lowcountry Heat to an 8-4 win at Goose Creek on Monday.

With the victory, Post 185 opened up a three-game lead in the League 1 standings. The Heat (10-2) can clinch the top spot with a win in one of their next four games.

Against Goose Creek, Storm Grisham had two hits and Sean Holm chipped in two hits and two RBIs.

Winning pitcher Chance Murphy notched his second complete-game effort of the season. Murphy scattered six hits, struck out nine, walked one and hit one batter.

Due to rainouts and other scheduling issues, the Heat played for the first time since June 13 at Beaufort.

Post 185 returns to action today, hosting the Ospreys.
