The South Carolina chapter of the Honor Flight Network is holding a commemoration next month to honor veterans of the Korean War and their families.

Honor Flight South Carolina will host a ceremony celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Korean War July 15 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

Veterans of the Korean War are encouraged to attend the ceremony. A certificate of appreciation signed by current Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel will be presented to veterans who have been part of recent Honor Flight events.

Names and addresses of veterans who have not been a part of Honor Flight activities will be collected at the ceremony and certificates will be mailed to them.

U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham will be the featured speaker at the ceremony. The Palmetto Mastersingers and the 380th Army Band will pay musical tribute to the veterans during the ceremony.
