Lowcountry Heat baseball game washed away for 2nd straight day

No makeup date set yet for game vs. Moncks Corner

The rain washed away the Lowcountry Heat's American Legion baseball game for the second night in a row Thursday.

Thanks to the Wednesday storm that washed out Post 185's game with the Beaufort Ospreys, the Heat saw their Thursday matchup with Moncks Corner postponed because of unplayable conditions. No makeup date has been scheduled.

The Heat were in the bottom of the second inning Wednesday against the Ospreys when rain and lightning sent both teams home. The two teams will replay the game Thursday, June 27, when Post 185 was originally slated to play James Island. That game was called off after James Island cancelled its season.

The Heat were unable to get the tarp on the Hilton Head Island High School baseball field in the midst of Wednesday's downpour, which left the ballpark unplayable a day later against Moncks Corner.
