A shooting damaged a St. Helena Island home Wednesday night.

No injuries were reported.

At about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, Beaufort County Sheriff's deputies received a call that shots had been fired at a Shiney Road home, according to a news release.

A woman, 40, and her 14-year-old son, said that an unknown person fired shots into their home from the outside.

The woman said she was lying in bed when she heard gunshots. She dropped to the floor and crawled out to find her son, who was in his bedroom.

They discovered numerous holes in the exterior wall of the home's living room, and several "projectiles" had penetrated the wall and embedded in a couch, according to the release.

The woman and her son could not provide a suspect description. The son said he had been in a fight with another child, who threatened to shoot him.

Damages are estimated at $1,300.
