First Presbyterian Church of Beaufort to host GED Boot Camp

First Presbyterian Church of Beaufort will host its second General Education Development Boot Camp from July 29 to Aug. 16 at the church's education building at 1201 North St. The free program provides three weeks of preparation for the GED test required to earn a state high school equivalency diploma. Both day and night sessions are available. Those 17 and older must take a basic-education readiness test, which will be offered at the church from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 22 to 26. Childcare, transportation and refreshments are provided. Private and faith-based contributions pay for the program.
