Moss given state award at retirement reception

Incoming Beaufort County schools Superintendent Jeffrey Moss was given one of North Carolina's highest awards Friday, the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, according to The Sanford Herald.

Moss, superintendent of Lee County Schools, was presented the award during a reception marking his retirement from the state of North Carolina after 30 years in education.

Moss takes over as Beaufort County schools superintendent July 1.
