School board seeking help with strategic plan

info@islandpacket.comJune 14, 2013

Beaufort County school board members have been asked to invite two community members from their districts to participate in the board's upcoming strategic planning.

The plan is slated for completion in January 2014 and will serve as a blueprint for district operations for the next five years. The committee's first work session is tentatively scheduled for July 26 and 27, but all interested participants must be identified by June 18.

I am certain a wealth of backgrounds exists within my district that would help the process. Valued areas of expertise include (but are not limited to) finance and banking, facilities development, education, human resources and legal.

I am reaching out to those in District 11, which roughly includes the following communities and surrounding areas on Hilton Head Island: Sea Pines, Wexford, Long Cove Club, Shipyard, Palmetto Dunes and Leamington, Port Royal and North and South Forest Beach.

If you have the time and inclination to join this effort, please contact me by June 18 to find out more.
