NAMI Beaufort County grateful for area support

letters@beaufortgazette.comJune 10, 2013

NAMI Beaufort County is the local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. We provide programs of support and education in our community for people with neurological brain disorders, their families and caregivers.

These programs -- always given without charge -- are proven, effective and invaluable to those whose lives have been turned upside down by illnesses that can affect anyone without regard to age, sex, religion, character, social status or income.

We are extremely grateful to the local hospitals, churches and organizations that provide us with free space for our support groups, educational programs and meetings. We would like to publicly thank All Saints Episcopal Church, Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Hilton Head Hospital, Lowcountry Presbyterian Church, St. John's Lutheran Church on Lady's Island and the University of South Carolina Beaufort for their continuing generosity. We appreciate their confidence in NAMI and value their support.
