Name: Kris Vigh

Husband: Randy

Town: Hilton Head Island

Children: Megan, 12; Josh, 10; Drew, 8

Occupation: Nail tech at Platinum Design and office manager for Randy's construction company, Hardwood Floors & More

Go-to dinner: Rotisserie chicken

Biggest pet peeve: Pants and socks all balled up in the laundry room

Hobbies: Gardening and cooking

Volunteer work: Vigh volunteers at Hilton Head Island School for the Creative Arts and Hilton Head Island Middle School. She also coordinates the dinners and snacks for Christian Bible Study youth groups.

Favorite mommy moment: "When they achieve a goal, whether it's a grade or Josh will catch a fly ball or something like that," she said. "Drew got asked to be in the All Stars, and that was just an amazing thing for him. Just the look on their faces when they achieve something like that, watching their self-esteem grow."

Most challenging moment: "Every day is something different," Vigh said. "Giving a quick answer that satisfies their minds and ours for that matter and it being the right thing to say. You know, maybe they came home and saw someone being bullied or something they saw on the TV ... Just being able to come up with an answer that's going to help them understand this crazy world. I think that's the hardest thing."

Stress reliever: Exercise and an evening out

Advice for other moms: "Follow through with a consequence for a punishment," she said. "Follow through if it's a treat for good behavior. Being a parent before a friend I think is number one in raising children. That was advice from my mom."
