A coach bus carrying 53 people drove off the road on Interstate 95 near Walterboro on Sunday morning, killing the driver and injuring two others, according to S.C. Highway Patrol.

Highway Patrol said the bus was traveling north on I-95 near mile marker 67 when it drove off the left side of the road and into the woods around 4 a.m. Sunday.

According to ABC News 4 in Charleston, the bus was carrying mostly children, members of a large band group from Ohio that was returning home from Disney World.

However, Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins said Sunday he could not confirm details about the bus passengers. He said the driver died as a result of the crash but that there have been no further fatalities.

Highway Patrol and its Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team continue to investigate the crash, Collins said.

According to ABC News, the Colleton County School District provided three athletic buses to transport children from the crash to Colleton Hospital.
