Jasper farmers market moving to Ridgeland

info@islandpacket.comMay 28, 2013

The Jasper County Farmers Market will move to downtown Ridgeland beginning with Friday's first session of the spring market.

The market will be open from 1 to 6 p.m. in the Main Street parking lot, across from Long's Main Street Pharmacy. The market ends Nov. 22.

Jasper County resident and farmer John Smith will serve as market coordinator.

The market will offer space to conventional and organic farmers to sell local and South Carolina-grown produce, and others including flea market vendors. The vendor fee, payable each Friday session, remains $5.

Any vendor wanting to sell food or drink must first be permitted by the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control.
