Late runs spell doom for Beaufort Ospreys in American Legion baseball loss at Moncks Corner

Moncks Corner scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to snatch the American Legion baseball victory 2-1 over the Beaufort Ospreys on Monday.

Beaufort led 1-0 after David Tilton's RBI single in the top of the third. Tilton finished 2 for 3.

Post 9/207 left 11 runners on base.

"We just couldn't come up with the big hit when we needed it," Ospreys coach Mike Smith said.

Losing pitcher Shane Dixon went eight innings and struck out seven. One run was unearned.

The Ospreys (1-2) return to action today at home against Goose Creek.
