Don't make assumptions about Sanford's actions

Wow, I didn't realize how many morally righteous people lived in South Carolina's 1st Congressional District or elsewhere.

In condemning Mark Sanford for a past indiscretion, they forget his accomplishments as our former congressman and governor. They forget the cutting of our state debt and blocking federal overreach into our state governance under his guidance.

Oh yes, the morally righteous speak without any faults. They forget the names and dishonor of Edward "Ted" Kennedy, Gary Hart, John Edwards, Anthony Wiener, Marion Barry and Bill Clinton. Need we name more? I'm sure they'll throw out Newt Gingrich.

However, just because they lost a great treasure in Elizabeth Colbert Busch, who also ran on the progressive, quasi-communist Working Family Party ticket, they don't need to keep whining. She was soundly beaten by a sinful and forgiving majority.

Be thankful we have a solid conservative in Sanford to represent us. Don't pre-judge, just evaluate his words and actions; you just may be surprised and pleased.
