A 22-year-old Hilton Head Island man was charged with cocaine possession Thursday after deputies found the drug in his pocket while he was being arrested on a disorderly conduct charge, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report.

Deputies arrived at Indigo Run to find the man intoxicated and walking in the middle of Berwick Drive. He was arrested after he began cursing at the deputies and hitting mailboxes with a stick.

While searching him, deputies found cocaine in a small plastic bag inside a cigarette wrapper, according to the report.

The man was released Friday from the Beaufort County Detention Center after posting a $5,200 bond, according to the jail log.
