College honors for May 27

  • Brant Alan Huff and Cheryl Lynn Huff, both of Bluffton, graduated from Park University on May 11.

  • Lauren Elizabeth Weaver, of Hilton Head Island, graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina's College of Arts and Sciences on May 11. A history major and anthropology minor, Weaver was a Palmetto Fellow, Capstone Fellow and South Carolina Teaching Fellow. She will return to USC this fall as a graduate student in the university's College of Education. Weaver is the daughter of Trish and Doug Weaver of Hilton Head.

  • Kyle Douglas Weaver was recently honored for outstanding academic achievement at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. During the spring semester of the 2012-2013 academic year, Weaver earned one of the college's top academic honors: a Gold Star. Gold Star honors are presented to students who achieve a 3.7 grade point average or higher during a semester's course work. Students that achieve Gold Star recognition are also placed on The Citadel's Dean's List.

  • Dr. Travis Weston White of Bluffton received the degree of Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia Veterinary College during the May 4 commencement exercises. He is the son of Dedra and Richard White of Bluffton. Travis White will be joining a small-animal veterinary practice in Bluffton.
