Bluffton volleyball players Mackenzie and Madison Cooler have been selected to USA Volleyball High Performance teams.

Mackenzie, a rising senior committed to play at College of Charleston in 2014, is one of 128 players in the nation selected to the USA National A2 Invitational Team Program in the Junior Age Group. She will train July 5 through 11 in Colorado Springs, Colo. It's her second year in the program.

A2 consists of four days of group training, where players practice all skills and focus on position-specific areas. On the fifth day, players are split into 16 eight-player teams in which they will train for a day under international rules and learn opponent scouting. The final two days feature an international-style tournament.

Madison, a rising 9th-grader, is one of 128 players nationally selected to the USA National A3 Training Program in the Select Age Group. She will train July 29 through Aug. 2 in Las Vegas.

A3 featured five days of training, where players are introduced to international skills and systems, and a round-robin tournament.

The sisters, who train with the Lowcountry Blacktips, were selected following tryouts March 28 in Atlanta.
