  • Annual All-Sports Banquet at 6 p.m. May 23.

  • BEAUFORT HIGH SCHOOL

    ACHIEVEMENTS

  • The visual arts department held an opening reception for the first annual BHS Juried Art Show May 16. Best in show was a painting by Erinn Szarek titled, "Recondite." First place went to Amelia Mercado for her pencil drawing "City Lights." Second place went to Maria Carerra for her painting, "Aztec Moon and Sun." Finally, Brandon Rupert won third place for his pencil drawing, "Wolfcatcher."

  • BEAUFORT MIDDLE SCHOOL

    EVENTS

  • Book-Fair May 20-24 in the Media Center.

  • School Improvement Council will have it's final meeting of the school year at 5:30 p.m. May 20 in the Media Center.

  • The Fine Arts Department will present a "Spring Evening of the Arts" at 6 p.m. May 23in the school gymnasium. Students from the band, chorus, dance and strings classes will perform a variety of music. Admission is free, and the public is invited to attend.

  • E.C. MONTESSORI SCHOOL

    EVENTS

  • The bridging ceremony for the first-grade and year-end program is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. May 23 at the University of South Carolina Beaufort Performing Arts Center.

  • JASPER COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT

    EVENTS

  • The district will invite local ministers to lunch. The lunch will be held 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on the Ridgeland campus and 11 a.m.-noon at the Jasper County Alternative School on May 20. A second event will be 10 a.m.-1 p.m. May 22 on the Hardeeville campus. Those planning to attend should contact either Ridgeland Elementary School, Deborah Mariotti at 843-717-1305; Hardeeville Elementary School, Lastella Brown Garvin at 843-784-8400; Ridgeland-Hardeeville High School, Shirley Goodman at 843-717-1503; Hardeeville-Ridgeland Middle School, Helen Ferbee at 843-784-8600.

  • LADY'S ISLAND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

    EVENTS

  • The Osprey Run will be at 8:45 a.m. May 21.

  • Field Day for kindergarten and first grades will be at 10 a.m. May 21. Field Day for second through fourth graders will be at 9 a.m. May 22.

  • Fourth-graders will perform "The Emperor's New Clothes" at 6:30 p.m. May 30. Students will perform again at 1:30 p.m. May 31.
